In the late 1800s and early 1900s the property at 502 Avery was owned by the J.F. Bruggeman Company, a prominent contractor in Allegheny City also known as, turn of the 19th century Pittsburg(h), PA. 502 Avery was home to the company's workshop, mill, and offices which employed over 100 employees. The J.F. Bruggeman Company was credited with building many prominet structures and houses in the city, during that time.
In the 1950s, the orginal structure was replaced with a more modern industrial building. This newer structure eventually housed a commercial printing company and a photography studio followed. In 2012, 502 Avery was renovated into Orionvega's offices, Studio Avery, and additional video production common areas.
